It seems every single person on the internet is, by now, used to chewing up and spitting out everything that's even remotely nice. Whether it's women posting images of their worked out, bulked up bodies, to now male professors at a popular Delhi University college walking at a fashion in skirts, we love to build them up and then break them down. Here's what went on here.
This clip originally posted by Instagram user Artistic Explorer more than a week ago, shows a fashion show at Kamala Nehru College as part of farewell celebrations earlier this month.?The theme this year was about androgyny and flipping the script when it came to gender roles and expectations. Somehow, the gender-fluid outfits ended up leaving a lot of people on the internet triggered. What was supposed to be a good-natured take on role reversal and gender-specific clothing, left the internet wondering if it was all a bit too much.?

No surprises there; most of the people gave responses that were expected: "DU kam JNU professors jyada lag rahe hai;" "Don't understand when India became so obsessed with rendering their clothing;" "this is ideological extremism."
Not surprisingly, the original clip shared on Instagram barely raked in 418K views, but after being reposted on X along with an extremely pointed caption like "The virus has reached India," the clip collected 1.1 million views. Clearly, we Indians have a long way to go before thinking outside the box and challenging social norms comes easily to us.
