Millennials, those born between 1981 and 1996, appear to have grown up with a fascination with thin jeans in an era of Britpop, side fringes, and Motorola flip phones.
They almost certainly all had a pair of kecks that got them through their adolescent and young adult years at some point.?However, some members of?Generation Z¡ªthose born between 1997 and 2012¡ªappear to have abandoned the ultra-slim denim trend in favour of a more casual look.?
"I never imagined skinny jeans would ever be deemed retro, but well ho," one TikToker used the medium to show her tens of thousands of fans '3 ways' to wear the figure-hugging jeans.
The person, who goes by the handle @momohkd, jokingly offered opinions on what to do with the first tip, saying, "Throw them out." She then tossed the black skinny jeans in the trash.
The second 'styling' suggestion was to 'burn them,' while the third creative suggestion was to "cut them up and make something else."?
Unsurprisingly, Millennials were outraged to see that their favourite wardrobe staple had fallen out of favour, with one TikTok user remarking, "Just because you don't like them doesn't mean we all shouldn't like it."?
"Guys, what I kinda like about them..." said another, while a third added, "I... kinda like them..."
"Can we stop hating on [sic]pieces of fabric...it's just clothes," said another.
"I know some people hate them but I really like them and fell really comfortable in them," disclosed a fifth.?
Fellow Generation Z members have now chimed in to provide various silhouettes that former skinny jeans supporters can use to spice up their look.?
From wide-leg and straight-leg jeans to cargo pants and utility trousers, it appears that the golden period of skinny jeans and all that came with it is finally coming to an end.?
