It's no news that the rising fuel prices are burning a hole in every citizen's pocket. Now, a man from Odisha rode a bicycle to his own wedding venue in order to protest the rising fuel prices.?
This man named?Subhranshu Samal from Bhubaneshwar?said his family had arranged for an expensive marriage procession."I decided to use a bicycle to reach the wedding pandal to lodge my protest against the high and ever-increasing price of fuel in the country," he said.
The groom covered a distance of 1 km on his bicycle while being dressed in his wedding clothes. His family and friends followed the groom on foot to attend the wedding, which took place at the Unit III area of the city.?
Many people who witnessed the man's protest supported him and even took pictures of him.?ˇ°Even bystanders and passersby took selfies with Subhranshu riding cycle,ˇ± a barati or a reveller in the procession told PTI.
Samal mentioned how this will help the leaders and lawmakers know the ground reality of the masses.?ˇ°Staging agitations near Raj Bhavan have become normal practice by political parties. As an individual I preferred to show my displeasure,ˇ± he said.
ˇ°Those at helm should get an idea of the anger that is there in the people on the fuel price issue,ˇ± he added.?
The price of petrol per litre in Bhubaneswar on Thursday was ? 112.56 and ? 102.24 for diesel.
