Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Tina Dabi is getting married to fellow officer Dr Pradeep Gawande. Dabi is the first SC woman to top the IAS examination and was the talk of the town back in 2015 when she achieved the feat.?
The officer will be marrying Dr Pradeep Gawande in a private ceremony in Jaipur today. The couple sent out invitations for their wedding reception at a hotel in the city on April 22.?
The staff at the five-star hotel in Jaipur, where the wedding reception will be held on April 22, remained tight-lipped about the details of the marriage ceremony. Preparations are underway for an elaborate ceremony.?
Dabi, who is an officer from the 2016 Rajasthan cadre, and Gawande, from the 2013 cadre, are currently posted in Jaipur. Dabi is currently Joint Secretary of Finance (Tax) to the Rajasthan government, Dr Gawande is posted as Director of Archaeology and Museums in the Rajasthan capital.?
The couple met during the Covid-19 pandemic when they were tasked with supplying essentials.
"We had met during the pandemic. It was he who proposed to me and I accepted his proposal," Dabi had told India Today.
The IAS officer had shared the news of her engagement through a picture on Instagram - the couple was seen holding hands in the photograph.?
Dabi was earlier married to Athar Aamir Khan, who ranked second in the 2015 examination. The couple got divorced late last year after getting married in 2018. This would be Gawande¡¯s first marriage.
According to reports, several prominent politicians including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, senior bureaucrats and others are likely to attend the high-profile wedding in Jaipur.
