LinkedIn, a Microsoft-owned professional networking platform, has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered job report. According to the report Future of Work: State of AI @ Work, worldwide AI conversations increased by 70% between December 2022 and September 2023.?
According to the survey, applications to AI and AI-related job advertisements on social media for professionals have surged by 11% globally and 5.6% in India.
LinkedIn has introduced a number of AI-powered capabilities to its platform. This includes Recruiter 2024, which automates hiring; LinkedIn Learning's AI-powered coaching; and an Accelerate feature, which uses AI to build an automated B2B marketing experience.
LinkedIn has begun testing a new AI-powered premium experience with a small group of premium subscribers in the United States. This experience enables users to discover hidden opportunities, become more knowledgeable about vital topics, and profit from personalised professional actions.
AI-skilled labour is in high demand. According to the survey, AI's expanding prominence has resulted in higher adoption of the technology at work, leading to a bigger need for AI skills. Professional services, technology, information and media, and financial services are the industries with the most demand for workers with AI skills in India.
AI is hastening workforce learning. Professionals all over the world are already investing in artificial intelligence capabilities, with nearly 80% more users watching AI-related courses on LinkedIn Learning this quarter.
In India, learners' chosen skills differ throughout generations, with Gen Z gaining digital skills such as programming languages, cloud computing, and data analysis.
Millennials and Generation X, on the other hand, are investing in soft skills such as leadership and management, personal effectiveness, and personal development.?
India's Gen Z professionals are more interested in learning AI skills than their elders. According to the report, 1.3 times more than Gen X and 2.4 times more than boomers. When compared to other generations, India's Gen Z spends 73% more time learning on LinkedIn.?
AI integration at work may pave the way for hybrid jobs. Advances in generative AI have the potential to break down barriers between cultures, continents, and sectors.?
This can broaden the scope of hybrid work environments. Companies are already responding to the desire for flexibility, with hybrid job postings in India increasing from 13.2% in August 2022 to 20.1% in August 2023, according to the survey.
