Now, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) mountaineers practiced yoga at an altitude of 22,850 feet in the Uttarakhand Himalayas. The ITBP mountaineers were present on the summit of Mount Abi Gamin last week where they performed a high altitude yoga session at a place in the snow-covered terrain. The 14 members of the ITBP mountaineers practised yoga for about 20 minutes amid severe snow conditions on June 1.
A video of the same was shared on Twitter with the caption, "New record of practicing Yoga at high altitude by ITBP. #Himveers of ITBP demonstrate Yoga practice ahead of #InternationalDayOfYoga2022 with the theme: '#YogaforHumanity' at an altitude of 22,850 feet in snow conditions in Uttarakhand near Mount Abi Gamin."
Their activity records as the highest high altitude yoga practice session to date by anyone in the world, according to a statement released by ITBP. No one has ever witnessed ITBP mountaineers practicing yoga at such extreme high altitudes.?

The crew wanted to give the message to the people to practice fitness by indulging in yoga.?
The ITBP personnel have earlier promoted Yoga by 'doing various asanas including Surya Namaskar and various other yogasanas at different high altitude Himalayan ranges on India-China borders including Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh in bone-chilling minus temperatures around,' reported ANI.
