We hope that people have taken the sensible decision of isolating themselves from others and are staying indoors at all times, in order to prevent getting infected or spreading the infection to someone else. However, not everyone has this luxury, since there are people who are needed at the front to make this pandemic go away. Health officials like doctors, nurses and paramedics are working day and night to make sure that more and more people recover from the deadly infection and get to go home.
However, this young paramedic who works for the the National Health Service which is the publicly funded healthcare system of the United Kingdom, got evicted from his home by his landlady. The paramedic named, Joseph Hoar, shared the text-conversation with his landlady where she is asking him to vacate the premises because she is scared to catch the infection from him.?
Joseph has not contracted the virus but the fact that he is around people who have, has put his landlady in a dilemma and she chose to act in this way. The tweet has gone viral with over 5K retweets and 13K likes.
Paramedics are extremely important in the medical industry and are the first-response team at any given medical emergency. Having one less paramedic out there is a great loss to the medical system since the number of coronavirus cases are only witnessing a spike.
People are not happy with how Hoar's landlady has chosen to deal with the situation and are coming out in his support and letting him know that it is illegal to do so.
Is this the thanks they deserve for putting their lives on the line? While we understand the lady's concern, was there no better way of handling this situation?
