In an incident highlighting how some privileged people believe they are entitled to special treatment, a Mercedes driver was filmed asking an ambulance helping a patient, to make way for him.?
The incident is reportedly from West London where paramedics were responding to an emergency call. While other drivers waiting patiently in their cars, video shows a Merc driver getting out to confront the emergency workers, as they treated an injured woman. The ambulance was flashing blue lights, indicating they were responding to a 999 call.?
According to Metro UK, a witness claimed that the Merc driver ¡®had been beeping his horn and shouting at the paramedics before leaving his car during the incident¡¯ in Earl¡¯s Court, west London. The patient was being helped into the back of the ambulance on upmarket Hogarth Road.
Man shooting the now viral video can be heard saying, ¡°This is what happens when you¡¯re a complete arse in a Merc. Come down the road, see an ambulance, with the lights flashing, and then trying to beep up the place and get the man to move.¡± Further in the video he says, ¡°Just cos the man¡¯s driving a big Merc. And then he¡¯s pulling out his video talking about he¡¯s going to report the ambulance people. This man¡¯s a complete fool.¡±
Apparently the driver has started filming the ambulance ¡®so he can report them for blocking the road¡¯.
¡°When responding to seriously ill and injured patients we prioritise getting to their side as quickly and as safety as we can. On occasion this may mean that other road users are temporality obstructed but we do not expect our crews to be verbally or physically assaulted when this happens,¡± Metro UK quoted London Ambulance Service spokesperson as saying.?
Imagine not even having a shred of patience and sympathy for someone in need of urgent help. People like this need some serious lessons in humanity, empathy and decency.
