Modern-day fitness enthusiasts are obsessed with taking their bodies to the next level. A 45-year-old biotech CEO who wants to turn back the clock on his body joins the mix. Entrepreneur Bryan Johnson, who is the CEO of the Los Angeles-based neurotechnology company Kernel, is working with medical experts to reduce the age of his own body with a series of experiments named "Project Blueprint."??
Recently, he took to Twitter to share his apparent success in reducing his epigenetic age by 5.1 years. He has been working with a team of 30 doctors and researchers for the last two years to achieve these results. According to Bloomberg, he wants to reverse the ageing of his own organs.
Johnson measures his weight, body mass index, glucose, heart-rate variations, waking body temperature, and more parameters every day to keep track of his progress. The health-conscious CEO plans to invest nearly Rs 16 crore in his project this year alone.?
According to the outlet, ¡°This year, he¡¯s on track to spend at least $2 million on his body. He wants to have the brain, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, tendons, teeth, skin, hair, bladder, penis, and rectum of an 18-year-old.¡±
The blueprint prescribes a brutal daily routine for Johnson to achieve his goals, like starting his days at 5 a.m., having exactly 1,977 vegan calories per day, and undertaking high-intensity?exercises.
He also goes through painful medical procedures, after which he has to evaluate the results of the procedure through extra?tests. Johnson has every inch of his body measured to keep track of his progress. From having 33,000 photos of his bowels to the length of his eyelashes, everything is recorded. The project is headed by regenerative medicine physician Oliver Zolman, who is just 29 years old.
