A wedding in Scotland's West Lothian turned into an absolute disaster after a mass brawl erupted which saw the bride attack her own mother with a stiletto, The Sun reported.? ?
The chaos resulted in the?bride and groom?spending their first night as a married couple behind bars after their big day turned sour.?
The?couple were arrested?alongside the best man over a fight that kicked off after bride Claire Goodbrand attacked her mother Cherry-Ann Lindsay with her shoe.
The Groom, Eamonn Goodbrand, and his brother?Kieran, who was also his best man, then joined?the brawl and assaulted Linday's partner, David Boyd, leaving him severely?injured.?
The chaos erupted as family and friends celebrated the couple¡¯s marriage at Bathgate, in West Lothian.?
Police were called and the bride, groom and best man, were arrested and held in custody.
The bride, groom and best man all pleaded guilty to assault and injury charges at court.?
The newly married couple spent their wedding night in separate cells before appearing at Livingston Sheriff Court.
Lindsay has since said the attack at the hands of her daughter left her fearing for her life.?
"Claire dragged me by the hair for about two feet and she was hitting me with her shoe.?She then grabbed me and put me in a choke hold. I couldn¡¯t breathe. I thought I was going to die," she told?The Sun.?
¡°I could hear Yvonne [a family friend] shouting, ¡®Claire, let go of your mum. You¡¯re going to kill her¡¯.?She later told me she felt terrible pulling my daughter¡¯s hair. But she said: ¡®I had to because if I hadn¡¯t dragged her off she would have killed you,'" she added.
They couple returned to court this week when first offender Claire admitted seizing her mum¡¯s hair and punching and kicking her on the head and body.??
She also admitted punching and kicking her whilst she was on the ground, striking her on the head with a shoe and seizing her by the neck and restricting her breathing.
Eamonn and Kieran both pled guilty to punching and kicking David, pushing their thumbs into his eyes, biting him and seizing him by the neck.?
