The Indian wedding season is in full bloom once again. As the days get colder, wedding banquets start brimming with people. And with these wedding ceremonies lined up plenty of bizarre tales surface that entertain desis to no end.?
One such tale already going viral on the internet is the story of a groom who had to pull up some jugaad to finish his wedding vows after life interrupted his wedding plans.
The man who refused to let sickness get in his way to marry his bride was an East Delhi resident, identified as a 27-year-old named Avinash Kumar.
The 27-year-old groom found himself tying the knot in a hospital after he was denied discharge from the hospital because of a low platelet count after suffering from dengue.?
Despite the unexpected turn of events in his life plans, Kumar decided not to postpone the wedding and hold the rituals in the hospital itself.?
The wedding ended up taking place in the hallway of Max Vaishali Hospital in Ghaziabad on November 27.
Twisted fate landed Kumar in the hospital after he suddenly fell severely ill four days before the wedding. He had a high fever and ended up in the high-dependency unit after being diagnosed with dengue.
According to reports, Kumar¡¯s platelet count fell dangerously low to only 10,000.
The situation became dire with Kumar¡¯s condition hardly getting any better which led his father to consider postponing the wedding. However, when the bride, Anuradha, and her family visited the hospital to check up on the groom-to-be the idea struck that the couple could hold their ceremony inside the hospital itself.?
The groom¡¯s father told TOI, ¡°We were worried when my son fell ill and was admitted to the high-dependency unit of the hospital. We were also tense as the bride¡¯s family had made arrangements and guests were already invited. However, the hospital accepted our request. Once Avinash is fine, we can have a reception party.¡±
