A driver in UK had an inauspicious day after he was?fined for speeding over?the limit. The motorist was found travelling at 112 kilometres per hour in an 80 kilometre per hour zone.?
The driver who was stopped by police in Waterford,?Ireland, was given a telling off and penalty notice for speeding over the limit. After being penalised, off he went.?
But while you would have expected someone in his position?to be cautious after the ordeal they went through, he did the unexpected. The driver tried to speed away, and was subsequently,?found speeding again, this time travelling at 101 kilometres per hour.?
And, unsurprisingly, he was immediately stopped once again and was handed another fine. Talk about having a bad day!?
Following the incident, local traffic police issued a statement on Twitter.
It read: "Waterford Roads Policing Unit were conducting speed checks when the found this motorist travelling at 112kph in a 80kph zone and were issued a FCPN.
"They then were found speeding again, this time at 101kph as they left the traffic stop. They were stopped & another FCPN was issued."
According to reports, the stop came after police introduced a day-long operation to curb speeding on the country's roads.
"Speed is the main contributing factor in many of the crashes on our roads, which all too often devastatingly result in the loss of lives of our neighbours, friends, members of our communities and our loved ones," Superintendent Tom Murphy of the Garda National Roads Policing Bureau was quoting as saying by JOE.?
"This needless loss must stop. Unfortunately, there are still a number who continue to break the law and drive excessively."An Garda S¨ªoch¨¢na will continue to focus our enforcement efforts on these motorists as we strive to reduce the number of serious injuries and deaths on our roads," Murphy concluded.?
In July, a woman in France was left stunned after receiving 33?speeding?tickets in just three days.
Suzy Colombani said all the fines arrived?in the post on 13 and 16 July, and they were all dated to the end of 2020, local daily?Le Progr¨¨s?reported.
These?speeding?tickets?were all awarded?on the Mercureaux motorway near Besan?on in the east of the country, which she used to drive daily.??
Remarkably, the first one arrived at her family home 10 months later.??
