In a bizarre incident of a technical error, a German man accidentally ordered 28 Tesla vehicles worth Rs 11.9 crore online due to a glitch on the company's website.
The information came to light when a user on Reddit by the name of 'Balloon Man' shared how he and his father ended up placing an order for 27 Model 3s vehicle instead of just one.
When the buyer clicked on the 'submit' section, the website sent a notification that the order could not be placed due to a failed payment issue. However, the man claimed that they had correctly filled out all the payment details.

This led to them doing the whole song and dance of the payment process and after clicking on 'confirmed,' the website again told them the payment had failed. This back and forth went on for a couple of hours.
Finally, after two hours of struggling with the website's glitch, the family received a 'Confirmed' notification. However, each and every attempt to rectify the payment made every single one of them a fresh order and the website ended up confirming all 28 of them. Their total bill came out to be 1.4 million Euros (Rs 11.9 crore).

When they tried to cancel the extra 27 orders, each of the vehicles had a non-refundable penalty of 100 Euro (Rs 8,500) and the total sum was 2800 Euro (Rs?23, 8300).
Luckily, once they contacted Tesla, the family got their problem solved and the entire order was cancelled without any extra charge. The father-son duo then went on to place a brand new order.
