A man has been arrested here for impersonating an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer, police said on Tuesday.
During interrogation, Inder Kumar Mali (40) said that he had gone here to collect shoes and other stuff after lying to his wife about his job as an air force officer, according to reports.
He was caught outside of Bareilly Air Force Station.However, when his identity cards and other documents were inspected, they were discovered to be false, according to Superintendent of Police (City) Rahul Bhati.
Other security agencies have also been notified, as three Aadhaar cards, three ATM cards, a false Army ID card, a car with an Army logo, two mobile phones, and five SIM cards were taken from him, according to police.He was seized by IAF officers outside the Bareilly Air Force Station and turned over to police, according to Bhati.
Mali was identified because he was wearing a flight lieutenant outfit wrongly, according to police, who added that he was from the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh.They stated he had been staying in Haldawni, Uttarakhand, for the past three years.?
According to authorities, Mali was booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after receiving a complaint from the Assistant Security Officer of the Bareilly Air Force Station, Yogendra Yadav.??
He has been accused under IPC sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing the handover of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc.), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using a forged document or electronic record as genuine), and 170 (personating a public servant), according to reports. The Izzatnagar police station is currently investigating the case.
