Would you like a decades-old meal? A man made an unsual discovery after finding a half eaten?McDonald's?meal inside the wall when renovating his bathroom.?
Rob Jones, from Illinois, US, shared a photo of his peculiar discovery on Reddit?forum r/mildlyinfuriating.??
His photo shows the meal 'wrapped up in an old rag', with the vintage packaging containing a packet of half-finished?French fries.
He's pretty certain the meal he found in the bathroom wall, has been there since his home was built back in 1959 - and he says the fries were still "perfectly crispy".?
"We are currently renovating our kitchen and bathroom. While removing a fixture in the bathroom I noticed a piece of cloth stuck behind plaster and pulled it out to show my wife," Rob told Newsweek.?
"It was balled up and we could tell there was something else inside. When we unwrapped it and found the old McDonald's bag and fries we were very surprised and grateful that is all we found hidden," he added.?
The picture, shared by Rob,? features multiple McDonald's bags, but instead of the famous?Golden Arches, the logos feature a mascot holding signs reading "I'm speedier" and "Custom built hamburgers.??
"Our house was built in 1959. It is very close to a McDonald's location that opened around then so I assume it found its way into our wall from the original builders," Rob explained.?
Stunned by how well the fries in one bag had been preserved, many people shared their thoughts.?"You, sir, are officially an archaeologist," one user wrote.?"As a former construction worker you¡¯d be surprised how many chip bags, Gatorade bottles, coke bottles, fast food cups are inside a lot of the newer houses," another user said.?"Dude, sell them to pay for the renovation," a third user wrote.?Another commenter said: "Wow, that's a blast from my past."??
McDonald's is one of the most popular fast-food chains in the world. However, there are still some places where it is challenging to find a McDonald's outlet, and Iceland is one such country.?
Previously, Iceland had three McDonald's outlets, but they permanently closed down in 2009. However, a part of the fast-food chain remains a part of the country's history. According to reports, they have preserved a 12-year-old Big Mac as a historical artefact and display it across Iceland.?
