McDonald's has launched a very unusual menu item in China - and it's fair that fast-food lovers are not happy at all.
The bizarre addition to the menu is the coriander sundae ice cream. Known as "Cilantro Sundae¡±, it is a limited-edition twist to the famous fast-food giant¡¯s popular ice cream dessert. It comes topped with a bright green coriander sauce and fresh ¡°crumbs¡± of the distinctive herb.
While it may seem someone is pulling off a prank, the menu is for real and reportedly launched on February 21 until February 25, news.com.au reported.
Coriander or cilantro is a type of vegetable that has always divided opinion. Its pungent smell adds extra flavour to some dishes, but mixing it together with ice cream is really inexplicable.

This isn't the first time that McDonald's has come up with a bizarre dish. In 2020, McDonald¡¯s in China launched a burger that contained slices of Spam in a bun, topped with an Oreo cookie crumb and mayonnaise.

The bizarre food mashup offered by the chain featured two extra-thick slices of Spam - canned, cooked pork, topped with Oreo crumbs and the brand's classic burger sauce.
At that time, McDonald's China's website described the taste of the Oreo and Spam burger as "tender and juicy," "full of meatiness" and with "a hint of sweet aftertaste" that amounts to "an unimaginable double surprise," as per CNN.
