A man who attempted a James Bond-like underwater escape from the FBI had an epic fail conclusion as his plan wasn't that realistic.
The man, identified as 44-year-old Matthew Piercey, was being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for more than a year. According to reports, several federal agents were tracking his company, Family Wealth Legacy, for an alleged $35 million Ponzi scheme.
However, the law finally caught up to him when he was attempting to make a high-tech escape.

Piercey reportedly led FBI agents on a long chase before his luck ran out when he decided to make an underwater escape.
He was chased through the neighbourhoods and highways in Redding, California before a helicopter spotted him leaping into a lake with a Yamaha sea scooter, reported?CBS13.
The report added that Piercy remained underwater for about 25 minutes with his Yamaha sea scooter.

Due to the lake's frigid temperature, Piercey had to eventually emerge, following which he was arrested by the authorities.
Reports said he used a Yamaha 350Li, which is priced at $1195, for his attempted escape. The motorised device allows users to cruise below the surface of the water at speeds of 3.7 miles per hour. Unfortunately for Piercey, it didn't move as he expected.
