"Hell hath no fury like a 'lover' scorned."
If you've ever crossed a lover, you will know the true meaning of this statement. Relationships have a strong potential to go sour and sometimes (most times), people don't process heartbreak in a healthy manner. This leads to them engaging themselves in bitter acts that are meant to harm the other person. Uttar Pradesh knows best when it comes to incidents like these.
?In another edition of #OnlyInUP, today's latest development is of a man who wanted to take revenge on his ex-girlfriend. So, in order to do that, the 28-year-old man named Saroj Kumar came up with the genius plan of putting up posters featuring his and his ex-girlfriend's pictures all around town, with the message 'Happy Holi!'
The 'colourful' incident took place in Salon in Uttar Pradesh, which is the woman's hometown. The youth's main agenda was to make the woman and her family feel embarrassed, which he was successful in doing since she was all set to marry a lawyer next week.
This led to the woman's father filing an FIR against the man which led to his arrest by the 'anti-romeo' squad. According to Vineet Singh, Circle Officer of Salon, Kumar found out about the woman's wedding and executed his plan to put up the posters as an act of revenge. Reportedly, he also morphed the woman's pictures.
Officer Vineet Singh said,
"The posters were taken down and Saroj Kumar was arrested from a village near Pratapgarh. He is being interrogated."
Uttar Pradesh is no alien to scorned lovers becoming extremely vengeful. The state has witnessed previous incidents where ex-lovers have taken a not-so-pleasant approach to their former relationships. A man from Ghaziabad had reportedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend after he was forced by his family to marry another woman and his ex-lover had refused to continue their relationship.
In fact, he didn't stop at that and attempted to commit suicide after stabbing his ex-girlfriend.?
Also, it is not just the men who turn bitter after a heartbreak; UP's women also have a violent approach to their broken relationships. A woman from Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district had allegedly kidnapped her ex-boyfriend just a moments before he was scheduled to marry another woman. She had claimed that the man and her were in love and his family was forcing him to marry another woman.
It's a bizarre world.
