A male passenger on a Mumbai-Bengaluru Spicejet flight was trapped inside a toilet for nearly 100 minutes early Tuesday as the door lock allegedly malfunctioned, claim reports.?
He was rescued after engineers broke open the loo door at Kempegowda International Airport(KIA) here. Stuck in the toilet, especially during landing, the passenger was in shock.?
KIA sources said the incident unfolded on Flight SG-268, which took off from Mumbai airport at 2 am Tuesday.On Monday, the flight was supposed to depart at 10:55 p.m.
It was not possible to quickly obtain the passenger's details. Spicejet had not yet responded."It was known that shortly after takeoff, the person occupying seat 14D walked to the restroom, triggering the seatbelt signals. Sadly, the toilet door malfunctioned and he became stuck inside," a KIA ground staff member stated.?
The staff heard the passenger's panicked calls and attempted to open the door from the outside.Another airport officer in Bengaluru said, "The poor man flew from Mumbai to Bengaluru inside the toilet and, shockingly, landed trapped inside the tiny lavatory."?
When an air hostess realised there was no way to open the restroom door while the crew was in the air, she wrote a note on brown paper in capital letters that said, To console the stranded flyer, she slipped the message under the bathroom door:"Sir, we tried our best to open the door, but we could not."?
"Remain calm. Please close the toilet lid, sit on it, and brace yourself¡ªwe're landing in a few minutes. The engineer will arrive as soon as the main door is opened."?
The plane landed on Tuesday at 3:42 a.m.After a two-hour adventure, engineers got inside the aircraft, forced open the door, and saved the man.?
