From carrying bags weighing more than their own weight to performing in exams with just one day between each, parents and schools expect a lot, of an average Indian school kid.?
Now a video from Karnataka has been going viral where a bunch of school kids can be seen trying to get into an already overcrowded bus.
The video is of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSTRC) bus in Shivamogga district of Karnataka. It is quite apparent that there is literally no space in the bus, but the kids, desperate for some reason, can be seen trying their best to get in. After some of them somehow managed to get on the foot of the bus, they started helping their friends get in.
None of the kids looks older than 10 years of age. Little girls can be seen hanging precariously from the bus, trying to balance themselves by getting a hold on the window railing bar.?
Here I do not understand the need for the kids to be trying to get in a bus which could clearly accommodate not even half a human being more. Is it that the bus service on the route is so bad, that the kids could not afford to wait for the other one? Or was there something so important at school that could not be missed? Like an exam? I am unable to understand the desperation of the kids.
However, if it is because the bus service on the route is not good, then some heed should be paid to this. 10 year old kids having to travel at the risk of their lives is certainly not what we need to get them educated. One would believe that there is issue with the bus service because the bus is overcrowded beyond belief. I mean there are crowded public transport where you barely fit in, then there is overcrowded transport where you cannot feel your body and then there is something like there where there is not even any breathing space.?

Makes me feel bad for the little kids who have to travel like this to get to school. And this just might be what these poor school kids have to go through daily.
Traveling from Delhi to Gurugram during office hours seemed like a struggle until I saw this video. Respect to these kids who go through such ordeal to get to school. We hope something can be done to make this nightmarish travel experience better for them.?
