A new video going on the internet has people shocked. In the video, two men get battered by passengers trying to get on a Mumbai train. The reason? The lads were blocking the entrance and they held onto the door of the train for the other passengers who also wanted to get on the train ready to leave.
The frustration of the passengers soon turned into anger and rage when the men refused to let go of the train door. The people plucked them out of the train and slammed them on the concrete platform. They launched fierce punches and kicks at the fellows who were trying to save themselves. One of them was captured on film trying to bring up his arms to cover his face and head.?
The incident took place at Diva station on the central railway on April 3 at around 7 in the evening. The men holding on to the train door were preventing passengers from entering the Kajrat-bound train. The commotion turned rageful and the Railway Protection Force had to step in to resolve the matter.?

The officers saved the two men from the horrid scene and urged them to file an FIR against the people who beat them but the latter refused to do so. A fellow passenger on the station, Subhash Gupta told The Free Press Journal, ¡°Blocking door is very common problem in Mumbai local and action against door blockers and foot board travellers are being taken regularly by the RPF, but moral policing is not good.¡±
The blocking door phenomenon has been a common problem for local passengers as incidents of such behaviour come in daily. Before the pandemic kicked in and vacated the train stations, the Central Railway had about 44 Lakh daily passengers on its routes contributing to the increasing problems.?
Now, with things fully back on track after the pandemic, people are once again starting to remember the daily struggle of getting on a central railway train. Rajneesh Goyal, the divisional railway manager of Central Railways Mumbai division, said that they are in the process of coming up with a new drive to put a stop to people who block train doors and even do something about the foot-boarders, ¡°We already instructed to the RPF for launching a special drive against door blocker / foot board trevellers [sic].¡±
For those unaware, travelling on the footboard is a criminal offence under section 156 of the Railway Act.
