In a bizarre incident, a woman jogger tried to fend off an attack by an unruly dog using pepper spray, when the dog's owner jumped in and bit her.?
The East Bay Regional Park District Police Department said in a statement that the dog attempted to attack the jogger when she was on a run in Oakland's Anthony Chabot Regional Park on Thursday morning.
"A female jogger defended herself against a dog attack with pepper spray," wrote the police. "Later, she was accosted by the dog's owner...? A physical altercation ensued, where the victim was bitten by the suspect, causing significant injury."
While she was jogging through the park, an aggressive Rottweiler tried to attack her arm and she used a pepper spray to defend herself.

But the owner of the dog?Alma Cadwalader, pinned her to the ground, punched her several times and bit her. The police department added that it is uncommon for joggers or victims of a dog attack to use pepper spray to fend off aggressive animals.
Pictures of the victim with her hounds were posted on social media by the police department and Alma Cadwalader was arrested.
