A recent graduate who claims she was "hired and fired in less than two weeks" from her first job out of college has ignited a TikTok chat about the decline of corporate onboarding.?
Sierra Desiray Frederick stated that she had recently started a new graphic design job with a Tennessee firm that produces print work for the grocery store chain Aldi, but declined to reveal her employer.
She stated that it was her first full-time job after graduating from college in August.
Frederick told viewers on her TikTok last week that she was at?work?for five days, three or four of which she did "nothing because there's two other people on my team and they didn't know how to train me."?
Frederick claimed her coworkers told her they didn't know what to assign her, making her feel "useless." She even pondered raising her concerns with the CEO of the company.?
However, when she arrived at work on the sixth day, he was there at her desk with an envelope and informed her that?she was being let go. She was told it wasn't working out and that the company would be looking for another applicant.
In a follow-up video, Frederick revealed that she was initially troubled with "self-doubt" and felt she was to blame¡ªuntil she was reassured by friends and family, who insisted she hadn't been given a fair chance.?
Many commentators lamented the decline of previous training standards, while others stated that they, too, had been let go due to inadequate onboarding.?

Another user said they were dismissed for having "idle time" and not being "proactive" in seeking work: "I got let go for not being productive and a 'quick learner' when I wasn't being shown anything."??
