?A Kerala photographer has nailed the face mask game. The owner of a photo studio, he came up with the ingenious idea of printing a person's face on the mask so they're easily recognisable.? ?
Binesh G Paul, a 38-year-old digital photographer from Kottayam started the customisable trend in his hometown.
Binesh G Paul who runs a small photo studio, says that he has been selling the mask for just Rs 60.
According to a?Business Insider?report,?Binesh said that at airports, examination centres and ATMs, masks often create an impediment and people have a choice but to take them off.? ?
Paul said he came across different masks carrying pictures of Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry, film actors and even animals but did not come across a mask with the person's own face.
To solve this issue, Paul thought that printing the person's face on the mask will make life much easier and also keep the individual protected at all times.?
In order to achieve the desired result, the interested person can send a selfie (taken using a high-resolution camera) to Paul who will carry out sublimation printing and transfer the image to a particular paper. The photo will later be enlarged and superimposed on the cloth mask.?
"During the lockdown, everyone was wearing a mask. When I went to the nearby store, they couldn't recognise me. So, I was also worried. How can we identify people? I have a studio where I print t-shirts and mugs. I thought of doing the same for masks," Paul told India Today.?
According to India Today, the?masks sold at Paul's studio are dual-layered with faces imprinted on them and are sold for Rs 60. He has already sold 3,000 masks and has another 5,000 orders.?He now plans on making triple-layer masks and N95 masks as well.
With masks becoming the new normal, people have been finding fun ways to make it a part of their daily attire. While some are printing popular pop-culture figures, some others are printing quirky emoticons.?
