However, in the past few days,?some Google employees are claiming they wish the innovations in the newly built office had come with good Wi-Fi. Some employees are claiming that the "Bay View" building, which is part of the Alphabet unit's Mountain View, California, headquarters, has suffered from unreliable or, at best, sporadic Wi-Fi for months.
Teams carrying laptops find its heavily padded collaborative workspaces unsuitable, as employees need to connect ethernet cables to their desks in order to receive reliable internet access. A few people get by by turning their phones into hotspots, as per Reuters report.
In a 229-page glossy book, the company showcased the groundbreaking features of the new building and surrounding campus, including "Googley interiors" and "an environment where everyone has the tools they need to be successful."
However, "we've had Wi-Fi connectivity issues in Bay View," a Google spokesperson admitted. Google "made several improvements to address the issue," according to her, and the company anticipated having a solution in the upcoming weeks.
One AI engineer stationed at the building, which also houses the advertising team, claims that Google's push for a three-day-per-week return-to-office policy has been hindered by the unreliable Wi-Fi.?

"You¡¯d think the world¡¯s leading internet company would have worked this out," he stated. He, too, spoke under pseudonymity because Google has forbidden them from discussing working conditions, as per the report.
Supervisors have urged staff members to take a walk outside or take a seat at the nearby cafe, where there is a stronger Wi-Fi signal. Recently, some people received new laptops with stronger Wi-Fi chips.
Although employees claim that the 600,000-square-foot building's swooping, wave-like rooftop swallows broadband like the Bermuda Triangle, Google has not publicly revealed the reasons behind the Wi-Fi issues.?
