Our country is full of inspiring stories, especially about youngsters who emerge from the rural parts of India and work their way up the ladder despite coming from poor backgrounds. One such story is of prodigy Satyam Kumar.
Satyam Kumar is the son of a farmer in Bihar's Bhojpur district, who secured a seat in the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Kanpur at the age of 13 in the year 2013, after securing a rank of 679. This made him the youngest Indian to achieve the feat. He did?B.Tech-M.Tech Dual Degree, Electrical Engineering from?IIT, Kanpur.
Moreover, this was Kumar's second attempt at cracking the IIT exam. In the previous year 2012, he had cleared the exam after attaining an all-India rank of 8,137 but decided to take the exam again, 12 months later, to get a higher rank in the exam, as per various media reports.

After finishing his education, Kumar was employed at Apple, at the age of 24, where he worked as a machine learning intern until August 2023. He is also pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD, ECE?from?The University of Texas at Austin.

Despite having high goals and ambitions in life and proving how capable he is, Kumar had told in the year 2013 that he harboured hopes of returning to his native district Bhojpurto teach children and play a role in improving their lives, as perIndia Today.
