If you are exhausted with your timelines being flooded with the minute to minute update on the grand Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja wedding, here's a much-needed distraction.
To be honest, this one is way cuter. No offense, Sonam.
A white tigress got hitched to a Royal Bengal tiger in Delhi Zoo on Monday and officials are ecstatic. This has happened for the first time in 27 years!
According to TOI, the main goal is to produce a healthier, mixed offspring. That's why 3-year-old white tigress, Nirbhaya, and 5-year old Bengal tiger, Karan, were given some alone time.
¡°They were introduced to each other two days ago, in a private enclosure¡ we wanted to see if they have chemistry, will they fight or not."
"They sniffed each other and seem to get along. Yesterday, we got them married,¡± said Renu Singh, director of the Delhi Zoo told the Indian Express.
How cute is that?
¡°White tigers have been inbreeding and the Royal Bengal tiger will not only introduce the dominant gene, but also improve the gene pool of the offsprings that can either be a white or a yellow tiger,¡± said Singh.
The tiger population at the Delhi Zoo has always been steady and zoo officials are trying hard to increase their numbers.
