The only person who can possibly take control of the situation is a traffic cop. But that's not what happened in Mumbai's Thane. In a video that's widely being circulated on WhatsApp a Traffic policeman is seen towing away vehicles and getting into a fist fight with an old man.
The old man, in turn, slapped the traffic police constable, identified as S Patil, for towing his two-wheeler at Ulhasnagar on Sunday afternoon.
According to an HT report, Jawahar Vasumal Lulla, a resident of Ulhasnagar, was detained for questioning.
"The driver of the towing van drove the vehicle for a few metres. Lulla kept forcing Patil to release his Activa. Patil kept asking Lulla to pay fine and but Lulla was not in no mood to listen. After Patil stopped the towing van and got off, Patil slapped Lulla and in return Lulla slapped Patil¡±, said an inspector of the Central police station to HT.

A brawl of this nature is not a new scene on Indian roads. It certainly was uncouth for the traffic cop to manhandle the old man, but it was equally callous on the latter's part to not pay the fine and own up to his mistake. All of this could have been avoided with a tad bit of responsibility on both their parts.
