It takes a lot of courage to overcome grief especially if it's associated with the loss of someone dear to your heart. People deal with their loss differently. While some choose to withdraw, to internalise the loss, others bounce back sooner than is expected.
But how soon is soon enough?
Time and again, we are handed stories hailing the latter kind who had set their personal struggles aside to do the greater good. They had emerged stronger in the face of tragedy and showed us what courage looked like.
Those courageous faces look like this:
1. Supreet Kaur
In an unfortunate incident, news presenter Supreet Kaur to read out a breaking headline about her husband's death on Live TV. Associated with Chattisgarh's regional news channel IBC 24, Kaur came to know about her husband's accident mid-bulletin.

While reading out the news, she realised that her husband, Harsad Kawade, might have been one of the victims. Despite the realisation, Kaur stayed true to her duty and continued reading the bulletin. She called the reporter - who confirmed her husband's death - only after she had finished reading the news.
In not allowing personal tragedy overshadow her duty, Kaur showed us how bravery really worked.
2. Rishabh Pant
Two days after his father's demise, we saw Delhi daredevil, Rishabh Pant, earning millions of hearts after he joined his team on Saturday to play against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In mourning, Pant lost his father on Wednesday night and performed his last rites in Haridwar on Thursday. However, he was back on the field on Saturday to play the IPL match against the Banglore team where he scored a half-century.
Virender Sehwag was among thousands who applauded the young man's grit for showing a brave nerve that many take the time to find after experiencing a personal loss.
3. Pranab Mukherjee
In August 2015, president Pranab Mukherjee set a remarkable benchmark by receiving the call of duty one day after his wife's passing.

After laying his wife, Suvra Mukherjee to rest, the president was back at Rashtrapati Bhavan to receive world leaders. With a reputation of a 'strict disciplinarian', Mukherjee first paid homage to Shankar Dayal Sharma on his birth anniversary and then proceeded to attend a briefing session with the External Affairs Ministry.
After delivering his official duties, he hosted the ceremonial welcome of delegates from 14 Pacific islands, who were visiting India at the time to participate in the FICIP summit.
4. Sachin Tendulkar
During the 1999 World Cup, Tendulkar truly transformed from a legend into a God after he led India to victory in a match that followed his father's demise.
While Tendulkar was paying last respects to his father Ramesh in Mumbai, India lost a match to Zimbabwe in Leicester, England. Not known as a man who would abandon his team at a time when they needed him the most, Tendulkar was back in Bristol to play against Kenya, three days later.
Not just that, he scored an epic 100 against Kenya to keep India alive in the league.
5. Sheryl Sandberg
In 2015, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg lost her husband to a tragic accident in a hotel gym. But 10 days later, she was back to work.

Despite her painful loss, which she described in a heartfelt Facebook post, Sandberg resumed her official duties sooner than anyone had expected her to. The mother-of-two had readjusted her schedule to be at work only when her kids were at school, thereby giving them as much time as they needed during the tough phase of their lives.
6. Celine Dion
'My Heart Will Go On' singer, Celine Dion returned to the stage one month after her husband, Ren¨¦ Ang¨¦lil's death. And it was not only her husband's death that Dion was mourning but also her brother's, who passed just two days after Ang¨¦lil.

Dion showed us how a heart truly goes on even when the person rooting for you is not around. By her own admission, Dion's career was her husband's 'masterpiece', hence, she had to continue for him.
7. Priyanka Chopra
Chopra was back to work just four days after her father passed away. Ashok Chopra breathed his last in June 2013 after losing his battle to cancer. Chopra admitted that she took very little time to grieve so that she could escape the agonising loss.
Doing what she did, Chopra still showed us how difficult it is to resume work after losing a parent.
