After police deny misconduct in Allu Arjun's case, lawyer claims 'illegal detention' post-bail and vows legal action
Allu Arjun's arrest following a fan's death at a Pushpa 2 screening has sparked controversy, with police denying allegations of misconduct during detention. Meanwhile, his lawyer criticised the delay in his release after being granted bail, calling it illegal and vowing legal action.
Allu Arjun was detained on Friday in connection with the tragic death of a fan during the premiere of his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The arrest, carried out under the full glare of cameras, shocked fans. Adding to the uproar, reports emerged alleging police misconduct towards the actor. However, Hyderabad police have since denied these allegations, asserting their justification for the detention.
'There was no use of force or any misbehaviour'
Hyderabad police have strongly refuted allegations that their personnel misbehaved with Allu Arjun during his arrest. In a detailed statement, the authorities clarified the sequence of events, dismissing reports of any inappropriate conduct.
"Another issue is that the police personnel misbehaved with Allu Arjun at the time of arrest is also not true. When police reached his residence, he requested some time to change his clothes. He went inside his bedroom, police personnel waited outside and took him into custody when he came out," the police said.
They further added, "There was no use of force or any misbehaviour with him by any police personnel. He was given enough time to interact with his family and wife and he himself came out and entered the police vehicle."

The DCP explained, "We receive a lot of requests for bandobast citing visits by some political personalities, film celebrities, religious programs etc. However, it is beyond our resources to provide bandobast for every event."
He further clarified, "In specific cases where a heavy crowd is expected or some popular personality is visiting, the organizer personally visits the police station / ACP / DCP office and briefs about the program depending upon which we provide the bandobust. In this case, the organizer did not meet any officer and simply submitted the letter in the inward section."
Allu Arjun's lawyer accuses jail authorities of illegal detention after bail
After being arrested and placed in 14-day judicial custody by a Telangana lower court, Allu Arjun was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court on Friday evening.
However, the jail authorities did not release him until Saturday morning.
The actor's lawyer, Ashok Reddy, criticised the delay, accusing the Hyderabad jail authorities of "not complying" with the High Court's bail order in connection with the Sandhya Theatre incident.
Speaking to PTI, he called the detention illegal and stated that they would take legal action in response.
