The Kashmir Files garnered positive reviews from people as well as critics. After more than a week of its release, the film is still going strong at the box office. Based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits that took place more than three decades ago, the film is the talk of the town despite of finding itself embroiled in various controversies.
One such controversy was when the film's director, Vivek Agnihotri tweeted that he wasn't invited to The Kapil Sharma Show for promoting the film as it didn't have a 'big commercial star'.
The tweet had sparked controversy and people expressed their anger against Kapil. The comedian had rubbished these claims in a tweet.

Anupam Kher, in a recent interaction with Times Now, had once again spoken on the issue. Kapil shared a clip from the interaction on Twitter and thanked Anupam Kher for 'clarifying false allegations against him'.
In the video shared by Kapil, Anupam Kher can be seen talking about how he didn't want to go in the show to promote the film as the subject of The Kashmir Files is quite serious.
He said, "To be very honest I must say it here I was called to be on the show. Maine Harman, jo mere manager hai, usko kaha tha ki ¡®Ye film bari serious hai, main isme nahi ja sakta hun (I had told Harman, my manager, 'This film is very serious, I can't go on the show)'. So I want to put my point over here. It happened around two months ago that I was told 'Aap aa jaiye (Please come)'. I have been on the show a few times and it's a funny show. It's very difficult to do a funny show and he does it very well. I don't think Kapil has any malice towards us or towards the film."
Kapil shared the video and thanked Anupam Kher for clarifying 'the false allegations against him'.
However, the veteran actor gave a cryptic reply and told Kapil that he should have shared the whole video and not the half truth.
"Dear @KapilSharmaK9 ! I wish you had posted the full video and not the half truth. The entire world is celebrating, you also celebrate tonight. Love and prayers always," he wrote.
