The Kannada-language anthology drama movie Roopanthara is all set to release in digital space. Produced by the makers of Ondu Motteya Kathe, Roopanthara was released at the theatres in Kuly this year. Now Roopanthara OTT release date is expected to be September 13. As per media reports, the Kannada film was scheduled to be released on September 9, but now they suggest it will be out by September 13 on OTT for Prime Video.
Though Roopanthara is all set for its OTT debut with Prime Video, the platform has not announced its actual OTT release date.
Plot
Roopanthara is about a vagabond in a dystopian future and his story to save his life. There are four stories that the vagabond tells people in the film. The stories revolve around one of an elderly couple, the second is about a beggar, the third one is about a local thug getting into a minor altercation with a software engineer, and the fourth story is about a young man dealing with childhood trauma.
Cast and crew
Mithilesh Edavalath, who supported directors in Kannada and Malayalam films, was inspired to create Roopanthara after observing a couple dressed traditionally in Bangalore, North Karnataka. To make his film debut, he wrote a series of short stories based on real-life people he met, as well as newspaper clippings that inspired him.

Edavalath first made three, then five, short films before realising he could combine them into a feature film. He combined the four stories he created into a feature-length story by constructing a dystopian future and utilising it to introduce and connect them.
