With her first web series, Dahaad, Sonakshi Sinha has returned to the entertainment business. She is portrayed as a courageous cop pursuing a serial killer in the show's trailer
Everyone has been claiming that Lady Dabangg or Lady Singham is back ever since Sonakshi Sinha's Dahaad was announced! And she certainly is.
With her first web series, Dahaad, Sonakshi Sinha has returned to the entertainment business. She is portrayed as a courageous cop pursuing a serial killer in the show's trailer.
The gripping two and a half minute clip depicts Sonakshi as a cop trying to make sense of the suicides of multiple women one at a time. As she sets out to find the murderer, she can be seen convincingly mouthing dialogue in a Haryanvi accent. As a cop, Gulshan also joins her. However, Vijay Varma seems to be playing a ruthless antagonist.
Reacting to the trailer, one wrote, ¡°Sonakshi is going to rule this year first with Dahaad and then with heeramandi Can't wait to watch thus series.¡±
A second added, ¡°I came here only for the male actors....but Sonakshi was kickass and above all of them in the trailer....and the last scene where Vijay Verma says smile was awesome.¡±

The synopsis read, ¡®When a series of women are found dead in public bathrooms under mysterious circumstances, Sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati is tasked with leading the investigation. As the case unravels she begins to suspect that the seemingly clear-cut suicides may be the work of a serial killer on the loose, triggering a riveting game of cat and mouse between a seasoned criminal and an underdog cop.¡¯
Talking about the series, Reema Kagti said according to HT, ¡°Dahaad has been a truly rewarding experience. This series is extremely special for all of us and has been brought to life masterfully by Sonakshi, Vijay, Gulshan and Soham.¡±
¡°Dahaad¡¯s thrilling storyline and incredible performances are the true standouts of the crime drama. The world that Reema and Zoya had envisioned for this story, truly required grit and coherence; and they have delivered that in spades,¡± said Ritesh Sidhwani.
Sohum Shah, Gulshan Devaiah, and Vijay Varma are also featured in the series.
Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar co-wrote the script for Dahaad, and they also co-direct it with Ruchika Oberoi. On May 12, it will debut on Amazon Prime.
