Vijay Varma Feels Darlings' Hamza Is Antithesis Of Kabir Singh; Says SRK Wanted To Do This Role

Vijay Varma, who played an abusive husband named Hamza in the dark comedy Darlings, is currently enjoying his success. His character has been well received by both audiences and critics.
The actor recently disclosed that the film¡¯s co-producer Shah Rukh Khan had such a strong connection to the character that, had he been younger, he would have taken on the part.

King Khan was well-liked in his negative roles, despite the fact that he is best known for his roles in romantic avatars. Since SRK has been working in the business for more than three decades, his fan base knows no bounds.

Vijay stated, "For a change, an abusive man is not being idolised by society," in a recent interview with Film Comparison. He also mentioned that Hamza and Kabir Singh were compared by some. Hamza, in Vijay's opinion, represents the "Antithesis" of everything that the movie stood for.

The Gully Boy Actor further stated, ¡°It was a different point of view. And the magic lies in the gaze, it¡¯s told by a woman. I feel Jasmeet¡¯s perspective was the correct one and the important one. And that perspective allowed the character to be humanised but didn¡¯t sugarcoat his monstrosity. We cannot celebrate this behaviour. And also, this is a cause-and-effect world. Therefore, the end of the character.¡±

Shah Rukh Khan has performed a number of negative roles in the past. Reacting to that Varma said, ¡°I remember somebody had told me that when Shah Rukh read the script, he said, ¡®Agar main young hota toh main hi karta¡¯, which was interesting for me to hear. That was also one of the reasons I felt that I could do this role, if Shah Rukh Khan thinks that he can do this role, being an absolute lover-boy and a sweetheart. Of course, I was scared to take up a role like this, but I¡¯m very glad that it hit the nail on the head.¡±

Although Vijay, the star of Darlings, is a multifaceted performer, some of his negative roles have had a lasting impression on viewers. For example, in SHE, where he played Saysa and won the award for "Best Actor In Negative Role.¡±

The audience has continued to praise him for his negative performance in Darlings and Pink.
