The Elephant Whisperers has been directed by Kartiki Gonsalves and produced by Guneet Monga was nominated under Best Documentary Shorts category. Monga whose film Period. End Of Sentence had won Oscar in 2020 revealed how long it took to make the film. "It took a while because we had 450 hours of footage with us, lots of shots of the jungle. Its a venerated documentary takes time to unfold cause real life is happening. So that's been our journey on it, Kartiki found this story, credit of that goes to her and I was overjoyed to support a woman director," she was quoted as saying by Wion.

For the unversed, The Elephant Whisperers depicts an unbreakable bond between two abandoned elephants and their caretakers. It is produced by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain of Sikhya Entertainment. It was nominated alongside Haulout, How Do You Measure a Year?, The Martha Mitchell Effect and Stranger at the Gate.
Navalny is great but really bummed that All That Breathes lost steam towards the end of awards season. Was favourite for so long.

All That Breathes was praised all over the world at several film festivals. However, it failed to make a mark at the Academy Awards. Other contenders in the category included All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, Fire of Love, and A House Made of Splinters. Set in Delhi's smog-choked skies, the documentary follows the story of two brothers devote their lives to rescuing and treating injured birds, especially the black kite.
