Baby John: Exhibitors replace Varun Dhawan¡¯s action drama with the Hindi version of Marco?

Varun Dhawan¡¯s Baby John hit the screens on December 25 and opened to a disappointing response at the domestic box office. The film then witnessed a major drop on the second day as the word-of-mouth wasn¡¯t positive. Things went from bad to worse on December 27. Now, according to a report, some exhibitors have already replaced the film with the Hindi-dubbed version of Marco.

Baby John lands in trouble after three days of its release?

Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan, struggled at the box office from the first day itself as it faced competition from Pushpa 2. The mixed reviews went against the Hindi adaptation of Theri. Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, certain exhibitors have replaced Baby John with Unni Mukundan¡¯s Marco. The Malayalam actioner has become the talk of the town with its violent sequences.

¡°On Thursday, the film suffered a huge drop which made it clear for the exhibitors that it won¡¯t even grow on Friday. As a result, cinemas across the country have reduced its showcasing. Meanwhile, the Hindi version of the Malayalam film Marco is gradually gaining traction. There¡¯s a curiosity to see it as many are claiming that Sandeep Reddy Vanga¡¯s ultra-violent film Animal (2023), looks like a kiddie movie, in front of Marco because of its excessive violent scenes. Hence, there¡¯s a demand for it and Baby John¡¯s shows are being replaced with that of Marco and also films like Pushpa 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King,¡± the source told Bollywood Hungama.

Marco, directed by Haneef Adeni, is a slasher action drama that centres on the chaos that prevails when the titular character decides to eliminate his foes for ruining his life. The film features Siddique, Kabir Duhan Singh, and Abhimanyu S Thilakan in key roles.

Coming back to Baby John, it is an action drama that centres on a man with a violent past. The film features Varun Dhawan as the titular character and marks his first collaboration with Atlee, the producer of this Theri remake. Baby John has a stellar cast that includes Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Salman Khan. It is directed by Kalees.
