Clip Shows Fighter Teaser Inspired From Tom Cruise's Top Gun; Is It Based On Balakot Airstrike?

Hailed as the first aerial action film, the first teaser of Fighter is out. Apart from impressive aerial and action scenes, people are loving the chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. Some were even reminded of Tom Cruise's Top Gun franchise as this one too promises an adrenaline rush.

Fighter teaser leaves fans bowled over!

The movie stars Hrithik Roshan as Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania aka Patty, Deepika Padukone as Squadron Leader Minal Rathore aka Minni, and Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh aka Rocky fighting for the country.

The teaser shows the lead cast flying high in their jets and doing some aerial stunts. It ends on a high note with the tune of Sujlam Suflam playing in the background as Hrithik unfurls a tricolor from his aircraft.

Is Fighter based on Balakot airstrike?

While there's no official confirmation on the same, the grapevine has been abuzz with rumours that the movie's plot is based on the Balakot airstrike that happened after Pulwama Attack.

Some reports even claimed that Hrithik is playing the role of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was caught by Pakistani military and returned to India after a huge diplomatic battle. It is said that the story will be loosely based on the true events. However, these reports are unsubstantial at the moment.

Official synopsis of the movie reads, "An aspirational young man named Shamsher Pathania must overcome his obstacles after enlisting in the Indian Air Force in order to become a hero of the Indian Armed Forces."
