In an interview with TOI, Madhavan recollected his super hit song Sach Keh Raha Hai from his debut movie Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.
The actor was quoted as saying, ¡°KK sang Sach Keh Raha Hai with so much soul that I had a tough time living up to the demands of the song. It was emotional, it had betrayal, and half the expressions in that song came about because of the way he sang it."
Praising the late singer for being warm and a 'nice person,' Madhavan added,

"He has one of the best souls I ever met, and he was the nicest human being ever. He always sang with an open heart, and the irony is that's the only thing that gave up on him. I am heartbroken.¡±

According to a preliminary report to the Kolkata Police, SSKM hospital mentioned that the singer died due to 'myocardial infarction commonly known as a heart attack. It also indicated nothing "unnatural as far as death is concerned."
Earlier, the Kolkata Police had registered an unnatural death case after his sudden death. On Tuesday, May 31, the singer had collapsed at the Grand Hotel, under the New Market police station area, after returning from a show in Kolkata.
KK was rushed to a private hospital in the city and pronounced dead.
