The man had sent a threatening message on WhatsApp to Mumbai traffic Police, demanding a ransom of ? 5 crore from the Bollywood star. The incident came in the backdrop of the recent murder of Salman's close friend and NCP leader Baba Siddique.

The Mumbai Police registered a case against an unknown person after receiving a threatening message. With the help of local police in Jamshedpur, a vegetable seller, Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, was arrested late Wednesday in the case.
Man claimed he sent the message 'by mistake'
The man, who sent the threat message to Salman on October 18, later issued an apology on October 21, stating that the message was "sent by mistake". While investigating the matter amid the ongoing probe into Baba Siddique's death, the Mumbai police tracked down the man's location in Jamshedpur and eventually arrested him with the help of local authorities.
In his message, the sender claimed, "Don't take it lightly, if Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wants to end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, then he will have to pay ? 5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan's condition will be worse than Baba Siddique's."
