Veteran Actor Vikram Gokhale, age 77, died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Pune.
Vikram Gokhale, a veteran cinema and television actor, has died. On November 26, he passed away in Pune. The actor's health, which had previously shown signs of steady improvement, had started to deteriorate, as per doctors.
Gokhale was admitted to Pune hospital and was on the life support system.
Previously, on Friday, the hospital¡¯s PRO said that the actor ¡°is showing slow but steady improvement. He is opening his eyes, moving his limbs, and likely to be off ventilator support in the next 48 hours.¡±

The remains of Vikram Gokhale, 77, will be carried to the Balgandharva Sabhagruha in Pune tomorrow morning, as per sources who spoke with Etimes.

Vikram Gokhale previously ran an acting academy in Pune, where he and his wife have lived for several years. His wife, Vrushali Gokhle, and two daughters survive him.
He comes from an acting family. His grandmother was an actress, while his father was a Marathi cinema and theatre actor.

While speaking to ETimes, he once reminisced that Amitabh Bachchan lent him a helping hand during his initial days in Bollywood.
"I went through a lot of struggle when I entered this Industry. I was going through a huge financial crunch and was looking for shelter in Mumbai. When Amitabh Bachchan came to know about this, he wrote a letter to Manohar Joshi, who was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra during 1995-99. And I got a house from the government only because of his recommendation. I still have that letter with me, which I have framed. I am so proud that he knows me, and I know him. We have been friends for the last 55 years. I love his attitude and nature," Vikram Gokhale told ETimes in 2021.
While playing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father in the 1999 Sanjay Leela Bhansali film "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam," he left quite an impression on viewers.
Other popular Bollywood films in which Vikram Gokhale has appeared include Hey Ram, Tum Bin, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Hichki, and Mission Mangal. Along with Abhimanyu Dassani, Shirley Setia, and Shilpa Shetty, he starred in his last Bollywood film, "Nikamma," in 2022.
