9 People Who Vanished From Indian TV After Winning Reality Shows

Recently, Sonakshi Sinha promised a playbacking singing opportunity to a contestant on Indian Idol junior. Nahid Afrin, the 13 year old singer, has agreed to sing for sonakshi's upcoming film titled Akira.

But that's just one odd.

They went to reality shows with a dream to make it big in the entertainment industry. Sadly, these dreams didn¡¯t last long enough. There are people who have tasted success on TV or the internet. At the same time, there are people who've won the biggest reality shows on Indian television and vanished right after it. So take a look at 9 people who went missing from the limelight.

1. Abhijeet Sawant

Sawant was the winner of Indian Idol season 1. He went on to record his first music album Aapka Abhijeet with Sony music. He later participated in another reality show Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar followed by Asian Idol. However, in the recent past, he hasn¡¯t been active. There were reports that he has joined the Yuva Sena. But we don¡¯t know what he¡¯s up to otherwise.

2. Ashutosh Kaushik

Kaushik was the winner of MTV Hero Honda Roadies 5 in 2007. In 2008, Ashutosh emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss season 2. Following that, he was seen on the television for a while where he acted in shows like Savdhan India on Life Ok and Comedy Circus on Sony. Sadly, we haven¡¯t seen him in the news for a while.

Hats off to this guy because he was willing to marry Rakhi Sawant. Hah! Elesh is a Canada-born Indian who was one of the 16 contestants on the show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. The show was obviously lavish and Elesh also gifted Rakhi a big diamond ring. But they split in no time. We don¡¯t blame the guy. Remember the music band Viva? Pratichee was one of the members of the outfit. The band never officially split, but they haven¡¯t released any album after 2003. Mohapatra released her solo album - With love, Pratichee in 2005. After that, we haven¡¯t heard a song from her.

6. Hrishant Goswami

Goswami was the winner of 2004 Gladrags Manhunt Contest. He later entered the Bigg Boss house in 2004. Goswami was seen in several advertisements, but nothing in the recent past.

7. Siddharth Bhardwaj

Bhardwaj was the winner of dating show MTV Splitsvilla. He later became a VJ with the channel. He was also the second runner up of Bigg Boss season 5. We have seen him anchoring shows on and off, but he¡¯s mostly absent from Indian television.

8. Vishal Karwal

Karwal was first seen in MTV Hero Honda Roadies season 4 that aired in 2006. In 2008, he came back on MTV Splitsvilla and won the show. He later hosted another show on MTV. Karwal acted in a few daily soaps and was last seen in Jamai Raja.

Qazi was the winner of a singing reality show called Fame Gurukul. He shared his prize with another contestant named Ruprekha Banerjee. Both of them released their first album in 2005, after which Qazi was nowhere to be seen. According to reports, Qazi was severely injured during the shoot of his first film.
