Ajay Devgn Donates Rs 1 Crore To BMC To Help Set Up A 20-Bed Make-Shift Covid ICU In Mumbai
Joining the bandwagon is Ajay Devgn who has donated Rs 1 crore Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) through his organisation NY Foundation to help set up a 20-bed COVID-19 ICU at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.
While many celebrities are holidaying, staying at home, recovering from COVID-19, amid the second wave of pandemic, there are several others who are helping those in need like Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Choudhary and more.
Joining the bandwagon is Ajay Devgn who has donated Rs 1 crore Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) through his organisation NY Foundation to help set up a 20-bed COVID-19 ICU at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.
In the midst of a shortage of beds, the make-shift hospital has been developed at Bharat Scouts and Guides Hall. As per reports, it is equipped with ventilators, oxygen support as well as para-monitors. It will be managed by doctors of the P D Hinduja Hospital.
Apart from Ajay, Akshay Kumar who had donated Rs 1 crore to Gautam Gambhir's foundation to help people affected by Covid-19, has also donated 100 oxygen concentrators along with wife Twinkle Khanna.
"Wonderful news-Dr Drashnika Patel & Dr Govind Bankani of London Elite Health through Daivik Foundation are donating 120 oxygen concentrators and as @akshaykumar and I have managed to get our hands on 100 as well, we have a total of 220. Thank you for the leads. Let's all do our bit (sic)," she wrote in a post which she captioned, "I think for the last few weeks with members of my own family ill I have been in a bit of a hole. But I couldn¡¯t stay there for long. I implore all of you in your own way to do whatever you can so we can look back at this bleak moment and at least say it took the worst but it brought out the best in all of us. #ILookForSilverLinings (sic)".
Meanwhile, Sonu Sood has launched a free toll-free number for free doctor consultations and COVID tests.
