Anupam Kher & Prakash Raj Share Their Two Cents On Uproar Over 'Angry Lions' In National Emblem
Anupam Kher and Prakash Raj have both reacted to the controversy over the national emblem row. While Kher lions will show teeth if them have them, Raj asks as to where are we heading.
The controversy surrounding the national emblem at the new Parliament building in New Delhi is gaining momentum as now even celebrities are sharing their opinions on the same.
After Vivek Agnihotri, Anupam Kher and actor Prakash Raj have also shared their two cents on the uproar over the "angry lions" in the national emblem.
For the unversed, the Opposition is slamming Narendra Modi-led central government for "distorting" the emblem by replacing the "graceful and regally confident" Ashokan lions with those having "menacing" and "aggressive posture". They have asked for immediate change.
BJP, on the other side, says that the emblem is an exact replica of the one in Sarnath.
Reacting to the furore, Anupam Kher tweeted in Hindi, "Dear brother! If a lion has teeth, he will show it! After all, there is a lion of independent India. Can cut it if needed! Jai Hind! ???? Video shot at #PrimeMinistersSangrahlaya."

He shared this along with a photo showing before and after photos of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman, both in apparently aggressive depictions in the latter column, along with the Ashokan lions of national emblem.

Earlier, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri had slammed urban naxals in his tweet. He wrote. "The new #NationalEmblem at the #CentralVista has proved one thing that #UrbanNaxals can be fooled just by changing the angle. Specially the LOW angle."
Furthermore, quoting lawyer and activist Prashant Bhushan's tweet, Vivek Agnihotri wrote in another tweet, "#UrbanNaxals want a silent lion without teeth. So that they can use it as a pet."

Meanwhile, BJP chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni slammed the Opposition for the row.
He said that the Opposition is venting its frustration over India creating its own Parliament building under Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, thus replacing the one created by the British over 150 years ago.
"The opposition is totally due to political reasons. Opposition parties want to target Modi for one reason or another. It is just a conspiracy to vitiate the atmosphere by misleading people," he in a statement.
He added that the national emblem over the Parliament building is 6.5 metre high, which is almost three times the one in Sarnath.
