CID Actor Dinesh Phadnis AKA Fredericks Who Was On Ventilator Support For Several Days, Passed Away Aged 57 In Mumbai.
Dinesh Phadnis best known for playing Fredericks in the popular TV show CID passed away at the age of 57 reportedly due to liver damage. He was put on ventilator support for the last few days in Mumbai¡¯s Tunga Hospital and breathed his last in early morning today. His last rites will be held later today.

IWM Buzz initially revealed, ¡°We hear that the entire cast and crew of CID was made aware of his health condition yesterday night, post which many of them dropped at the hospital to enquire about his health today.¡± The earlier reports had suggested that he was getting better but in the last few days, the man turned critical.
Dinesh¡¯s CID co-star Dayanand Shetty refuted rumours of his heart attack.
After several media reports suggested that Dinesh suffered a heart attack, Shetty who played Senior Inspector Daya in CID told Indian Express, ¡°Dinesh Phadnis is hospitalised and on a ventilator, doctors are observing him. He has not suffered a heart attack, it is a different treatment and I wouldn¡¯t like to comment on it.¡±

Other than acting, Dinesh also wrote several episodes of CID which aired from 1998 to 2018. He also starred in Dangal TV¡¯s CIF and appeared as a guest on Adaalat and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In movies, Phadnis played some impressive characters in Super 30, Sarfarosh and Officer.

In a 2012 interview with TellyChakkar, Dinesh revealed, ¡°I remember I was struggling for roles and wherever I went to seek work, I met B P Singh (producer of CID). I am not aware if it was sheer luck or coincidence. Finally, he asked me if I wanted to join CID and that¡¯s how my journey began. Later I also took up Aahat.¡±
Dinesh added, ¡°The show earlier had no humour at all. So I was chosen to be the comic relief. And I must say that I have received a great response from the masses. It¡¯s a big and lovely team. There is absolutely no sense of insecurity. Shivaji Satam, Daya, Aditya are all very helpful. And the best part is that fans love my work.¡±
