On the 75th Independence Day today, Bollywood celebrities are also beaming with pride and enthusiastically celebrating the occasion. They joined the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and also wished their fans and followers a happy Independence Day.
Here's how the spirit of national celebration took over the B-Town
Salman Khan took to Instagram to extend warm greetings and shared a photo with holding the national flag with with Indian Navy officers.
"Wishing everyone a very happy 75th Independence Day( 75 years of Independence).. Jai Hind," he wrote.
Akshay Kumar asked everyone to always "cherish this freedom".
Akshay took to social media, where he shared a picture of himself posing with the flag. "Let's always cherish this freedom. Happy #IndependenceDay. #Indiaat75," he wrote in the caption.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli also wished Indian around the world a Happy Independence Day.
Anushka shared a picture on Instagram, posing with cricketer husband Virat Kohli and the Indian flag. "Celebrating 75 years of our Independence Wishing all the Indians around the world a very #HappyIndependenceDay ! Jai Hind," she wrote as the caption.
Kangana Ranaut who is down with dengue said that although she could not leave her room, the spirit of national celebration took over her in the most empowering way.
Kangana posted a picture of her in bed getting an IV on her Instagram story. "Couldn't get out of my room lekin the spirit of national celebration has taken over me in the most empowering way.. From my home staff, nurses and gardeners all congratulating each other, I heard Honourable Prime Minister speech this Morning."
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan hoisted the Indian tricolour at his residence, Mannat.
He wrote, "Teaching the young ones at home the essence and sacrifice of our Freedom Fighters for our country India, will still take a few more sittings. But getting the flag hoisted by the little one made us all FEEL the pride, love and happiness instantly."
Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared a video in the story section of her Instagram.
The video shows paper cutting of an old newspaper which notified about India finally getting the independent status. The headline read: "India Independent: British Rule Ends".
Preity Zinta celebrated Independence Day with her toddlers.
She shared photos of her toddlers holding Tiranga in their hands.
Sonali Bendre celebrated Independence Day in Atlanta.
Taking to Instagram, Sonali shared a glimpse of her Independence Day celebrations. She dropped a string of images in which she is seen waving the Indian Flag along with several other Indians in Atlanta. For the special occasion, she chose to wear an ethnic suit. "Took a little bit of home to Atlanta¡ #HappyIndependenceDay," she captioned the post.
Vivek Agnihotri thanked CRPF Officers for 'protecting him during turmoil'.
He wrote, "I want to thank @crpfindia and their hard working security officers for protecting me during all this turmoil. Some of the stories I hear of their sacrifices, specially from Kashmir and Naxal areas, are so full of patriotism and courage. Salute to all our soldiers".
