'Haunted For Being Someone's Girlfriend', Producer On Why Rhea Chakraborty Deserves Better
Rhea Chakraborty might soon make her Tollywood debut with Rana Sarkar's upcoming movie.
After ex-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput's death, actress Rhea Chakraborty had to go through a lot. The Sonali Cable actress' film career came to a halt as she got entangled in the massive death controversy of the Kai Po Che actor.
However, it looks like Rhea Chakraborty is set to return to the silver screen soon. According to reports, the actress might soon feature in a Bengali-language film as National Award-winning filmmaker Rana Sarkar has offered Rhea Chakraborty a Tollywood project.
Rana Sarkar thinks that Rhea Chakraborty's potential in Bollywood remains untapped. Referring to Rhea Chakraborty's controversial past, filmmaker Rana Sarkar said that he thinks the actress' career is being jeopardised for no fault of her.
According to Rana Sarkar, she had gone through a lot of trouble and is not getting any work in Mumbai. "I think Rhea¡¯s career is being jeopardised for no fault of her. She went through a lot of trouble and she is also not getting roles in Mumbai. She has been haunted for being someone¡¯s girlfriend and for being Bengali. I genuinely think she deserves better," Rana Sarkar said.
In his latest interview, the filmmaker also said that the actress perfectly fits the role in his upcoming film, which is a story of betrayal. The producer also highlighted that Rhea Chakraborty speaks good Bengali and that it would help as he has seen her earlier performances.
Moreover, Rana Sarkar invited the actress to the Bengali film industry through a tweet recently on her birthday.
Taking to Twitter on Rhea Chakraborty's 30th birthday, Rana Sarkar tweeted, "Happy Birthday @Tweet2Rhea¡Shows must go on. Come to Kolkata and join us #BengaliCinema #Tollywood."
Last month, Rhea Chakraborty remembering her deceased BF Sushant Singh Rajput took to social media to share with her fans that she still misses him. She wrote, "Miss you every day ¡ ??" alongside a picture featuring her with the late actor.
On the work front, Rhea Chakraborty last featured in the film Chehre. The film also had veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi playing the lead roles while Annu Kapoor and Krystle D¡¯Souza were seen portraying other key characters. The Rumy Jafry directorial was received with mixed reactions from critics as well as the audience alike.
