Mukesh Khanna has managed to stir yet another controversy and this time it involves Ranbir Kapoor. In a recent interview, the Shaktiman actor was questioned about casting for Lord Ram in Ramayana, and his response caused an uproar online. Arun Govil's portrayal of Lord Ram in the original Ramayana television series is pure gold, he added. Saying this, he also referred to Ranbir as a ¡®lampat chhichhora.¡¯ Here¡¯s a look at his entire statement.

Mukesh was questioned about Ranbir's casting as Lord Ram in an interview with Mid-Day. The Shaktimaan actor was initially apprehensive. He stated that he would not discuss this because if he did, people would accuse him of making remarks about everyone and everything. He claimed that his reputation had been damaged by others. Additionally, he said that his recent remark on Tiger Shroff backfired.
He added, "If they¡¯re making a Ramayana, comparisons with Arun Govil will be inevitable."
When asked if any actor is good enough to portray Lord Ram, Mukesh said, ¡°What Arun Govil did with the role has become the gold standard. All I can say is that whoever plays Ram must embody Ram; he shouldn¡¯t look like Raavan. In their real life, if they are a (lampat chhichhora) lewd hooligan, then it will show on screen. If you¡¯re playing Ram, you¡¯re not allowed to party and drink. But who am I to decide who plays Ram?"

In reference to Prabhas' performance in a comparable part, Mukesh Khanna had concerns regarding the casting decisions for the Lord Ram role. He pointed out that even though Prabhas was a well-known actor, the public did not like him because he didn't look like Ram, not because he was a bad actor. Khanna cautioned filmmakers against casting, pointing out that the actor already selected to play Ram is a well-known member of the Kapoor family and a gifted actor. But he noted that the actor's most recent performance in Animal highlighted a cruel demeanor, which Khanna worries could conflict with how the audience views Lord Ram.
