Anushka Sharma congratulates Jhulan Goswami as she becomes the joint-highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament with Australia's Lynn Fullston at 39 wickets.
One of the greatest women fast bowlers of all time, Jhulan Goswami has made history yesterday after she took the wicket of New Zealand's wicketkeeper-batter Katey Martin in the ICC Women's World Cup.
One of the fastest bowlers in the history of women's cricket, Goswami is now the joint-highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament with Australia's Lynn Fullston at 39 wickets.
As Jhulan Goswami achieved this feat, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma who is playing her role in the forthcoming biopic titled Chakda Xpress congratulated her.
She wrote, "Congratulations @jhulangoswami on becoming the joint-highest wicket-taker in ICC women's world cup history."
Chakda Xpress will narrate Jhulan Goswami's inspiring journey about how she claimed the ladder of success while battling misogynistic politics in order to fulfill her dream of playing cricket for India.
Anushka Sharma has already begun to train for the film.
"It is a really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women¡¯s cricket," she had said.
"At a time when Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and also women¡¯s cricket," said Anushka Sharma.
Produced by Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Ssharma's Clean Slate Filmz, Chakda Xpress is directed by Prosit Roy.
