Reacting to Depp's decision to perform on the stage, many wondered if this was the man who had just finished a domestic abuse trial and hadn't received a verdict yet.
While the world awaits the 'big' verdict in a much-publicized Amber Heard-Johnny Depp defamation case, Depp showed up and surprised concert-goers in England with an impromptu gig.
Depp made a surprise entry on stage during a Jeff Beck concert over the weekend. Depp took to the stage in the English city of Sheffield.

While the fans present at the venue were remarkably surprised, the internet had mixed reactions after Depp's gig. Several pictures and videos from Depp's impromptu gig started circulating.
The longtime friends performed a cover of the John Lennon song "Isolation'. The duo had recorded a studio version of the same song in 2020.

Depp's concert appearance has once again sparked a debate about cancel culture.
Reacting to Depp's decision to perform on the stage, many wondered if this was the man who had just finished a domestic abuse trial and hadn't received a verdict yet.
Trolls: ¡°he¡¯s moving on with his life, she should too.¡± She can¡¯t. She has to wait for a verdict. He¡¯s on tour. It wasn¡¯t about the verdict for him. It was about the opportunity of a trial to further his abuse. Whatever the verdict, he continues freely. She does not.

So Johnny Depp is on tour with Jeff Beck. He played in Sheffield tonight, and will likely play the Royal Albert Hall in London tomorrow and Tuesday. That's the domestic abuse victim waiting for his defamation case verdict. The one who's been cancelled.

Depp is currently waiting for the verdict in the multimillion defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Johnny's performance comes after seven weeks of the trial that involved allegations of severe abuse made by both parties.
The trial sparked a debate on social media, with many inclined toward Depp.
While the jury deliberates on a verdict after reconvening on May 3, Depp's loyal fans seem delighted with his performance.
Depp is suing Heard over a December 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as "a public figure representing domestic abuse."
His lawyers say he was defamed by the article even though it never mentioned his name.
Last year, Depp told The Sunday Times that the film industry was boycotting him amid the domestic abuse allegations by his former wife and "The Rum Diary" co-star as his latest movie "Minamata" was yet to get a release in the US.
"Minamata," on which Depp served as a producer, was eventually released in the US in February 2022 by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
