MP Cops To Get Leave To Watch 'The Kashmir Files'; Home Minister Instructs DGP
Madhya Pradesh government today announced that policemen in the state would be granted leave to watch the recently-released film.
There have been many controversies ever since the 'The Kashmir Files' was announced. Despite all the noise, chatter, and debates, the movie managed to steer clear and get a release in Indian theatres.
The movie is doing great at the box office, to everyone's surprise. Even without any backing from a big banner production house of an A-lister, the film is earning praises.
'The Kashmir Files' is Vivek Agnihotri's attempt at showcasing the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from the state after systematic killings of people from the community by Pakistan-backed terrorists.

Owing to the popularity and the significance of a movie like 'The Kashmir Files,' the Madhya Pradesh government today announced that policemen in the state would be granted leave to watch the recently-released film.
State Home Minister Narottam Mishra spoke to reporters and confirmed that Madhya Pradesh police officers would be given leave to watch the movie.

He also added that instructions for this have been issued to Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena.

"I have just told the DGP to grant a leave whenever any policeman in the state wants to go watch 'The Kashmir Files' with their family," Mr. Mishra told reporters.
This comes a day after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan exempted 'The Kashmir Files' from entertainment tax in Madhya Pradesh.

This needs to be watched by maximum people, hence we have decided to make it a tax-free in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
He said that the government decided to make it tax-free as the movie deserves to be watched by maximum people. Goa caretaker Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also lauded 'The Kashmir Files' and said that the film would be screened with maximum possible shows in the state.
The movie, directed and written by Vivek Agnihotri, stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi.

The page states that the film received around 131,433 votes and, owing to the 'unusual' activity, gave the film an average rating of 8.3 / 10.
On its opening weekend, the film collected ?27 crores.
